WordPress Pages and Posts

< 1 min read

Pages #

  • A page is a static post type that features content that is timeless and not effected by date.
  • usage — constant content, such as an About page, Contact page, pricing, or FAQs.
  • WordPress cpanel location — cpanel tabs > PAGES > ALL PAGES

Posts #

  • A post is a dynamic post type that is date dependent.
  • The default order for posts is chronological from newest to oldest, which means it updates to show the most current content to readers.
  • Sticky posts will appear pinned to the top of the list before any post no matter when it was published.
  • note — Sticky posts are created when you check the “Stick to the top of the blog” checkbox on the righthand-side column > “Post” tab > “Summary” section.
  • usage — blog articles, news, or anything that is timely.
  • WordPress cpanel location — cpanel tabs > POSTS > ALL POSTS
